On November 27, 2018, Kazuo passed away at the University of Alberta Hospital at the age of 77.
He will be remembered by his loving wife Chung; son Jerry; and daughter Kathryn. Kazuo will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends
Kazuo was born in New Westminster, B.C. He is the only son of Takeo and Shizuko Kawata family. He has sister Masako and Yohimi. He is loved by whole family. He played hockey since he was 6 years old. During his growing years he played at community club. He is a good hockey player. Later he coached young children. He graduated from Sisler high school in 1958. He took some courses at Manitoba University. He liked electronic. He like to fix things such as when he was 21 years old he wanted radio to work. He came to Boyle, Alberta where he met his wife Chung and raised his family. He liked to take family to many places after they went to Winnipeg to see his parents and sisters. He also took whole family to San Francisco, Disneyland, Sea World, and often visited his mother-in-law. They enjoy travelling. He took early retirement from AGT. He still like active life. He took some course at NAIT. He enjoy the study, gardening, exercise. He watch T.V sports, financial news, shows. Once a week he like to meet his friend to have breakfast together. It brings him happiness. Later year ill health prevent him enjoying a fuller life.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on December 5, 2018 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 16204 Fort Road NW, Edmonton, AB.
