At the South Shore Villa on Sunday, December 31st, 2017, of
Kathleen “Kaye” Laura MacVittie (nee MacDonald) of Victoria,
age 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Keith
MacVittie. She is loved and survived by her son, Tracy Keith
(Alanna) MacVittie, grandchildren Cameron, Chron and Keitha,
son-in-law Harry Leonard, sisters Joyce Irving, Marilyn MacLean,
brother Nelson (Inez) MacDonald, sisters-in-law Florence and Marion
MacDonald and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her
parents Emerson and Lucilla MacDonald, children Roger, Barry, and
Sandra Leonard, and brothers Merlin, David, Blair (Diane) and
Billy. Kaye was born on her grandfather’s farm on June 10th,
1928, in Victoria-By- The- Sea. She taught at Lady Fane
School before she married and moved to
Massachusetts. In the 1970’s she returned to Victoria where
she became an active member of the Village Council, Women’s Institute,
and St. John’s Anglican Church. She was also a strong
supporter of the Victoria Fire Department. She loved playing
cards and for many years organized the weekly winter card parties at
the community hall. Kaye was awarded the Queen Elizabeth 11
Diamond Jubilee Medal. Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home,
Crapaud. No visitation by family request. A
funeral service will be held from St. John’s Anglican Church,
Crapaud, on Saturday, January 6th, at 11:00 a.m.
