Obituary for
Julie Ann Dunnigan (Tyson)
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce Julie’s passing after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 48. Julie passed peacefully at the May Court Hospice surrounded by the love of her family on December 24th.
Julie is the beloved and cherished wife of Edward, and the proud and devoted mother to Connor and Thomas. She is survived by her loving parents Barbara Thomas and Ray (Ann) Tyson. She will forever be missed by her sister and best friend Helen (Pat Crawford), and her adored nephews Owen and Dylan. She is loved by her step-sisters Kim O’Reilly (Marc Pilon), and Melissa (Danny Frangione) as well as her nieces Emma, Amelia, Abigail and Ava. Julie also leaves behind her Nana, Lily Tyson, her beloved mother-in-law Jean, sister-in-law Gail (Fred Shepherd) and many extended family in the United Kingdom and Australia. Julie will be fondly remembered by her many friends who supported her during her illness, as well as the West End Hockey Community, The Ultimate Frisbee Community, her friends at Merivale High School and so many others who were touched by Julies’ spirit along the way.
Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond Road) on Thursday from 6–8 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Service in Celebration of Julie’s Life will take place at Sala San Marco, 215 Preston Street on Saturday, December 29th at 4 pm. Reception to follow. Private interment.
The Family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Douglas for his amazing care of Julie. They also send heartfelt thanks to Tawny and all the nurses at the Irving Greenberg Cancer Centre, Lisa and the nursing staff of Carefor, and all the amazing staff at the May Court Hospice for the exceptional care they gave to Julie during her illness.
