1938-2018
Slack, Joyce Eileen, 80, Valley, passed away Sunday, November
18, 2018 in the Colchester East Hants Centre, Truro, with her family
by her side. Born in Bass River, she was a daughter of the late
Willard and Pearl (Dickie) Fulton. Joyce was a former school teacher
having taught in the Truro area for many years. She was a member of
the Valley United Church, Valley, and the U.C.W. She was the last
surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Wilson, Truro; sons,
Bruce (Karen) Creelman, Gold River BC, and David (Natasha) Creelman,
Onslow; step-daughter, Tracey (David) Mitchell, Truro; step-son, Dana
(Ruth) Slack, North River; grandchildren, Jonathon Wilson, Meagan
Wilson, Ashley Creelman, and Connor Creelman; step-grandchildren,
Nicholas Slack and Alana Slack, Sean Mitchell, Patrick Mitchell, Ryan
Mitchell; great-granddaughter Caylee; several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank Kenneth Slack;
brothers. Ray, Ron, Donald in infancy.
No visitation by family request. Arrangements are under the
direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro,
where funeral service will take place on Thursday, Nov.
22nd at 2 pm. Reverend Carolyn Wilson-Wynne
will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral
home. Burial will take place at a later date in Crossroads Cemetery,
Valley. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society
or to the Palliative Care Unit of CEHHC, Truro. A special thanks to
the Doctor and Nurses of the Palliative Care Unit for your compassion
and care given to our mother. Private messages of
