Obituary Overview
Joseph C. Hefler
Age 77, of Beaver Bank, passed away suddenly on May 20, 2018 at home. He was the son of the late Cecil Hefler and Irene (Renee Elliott) Hefler. Joe started his working career with the Nova Scotia Power Commission and retired from the Halifax County Municipality, as Chief Building Inspector, after 32 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Williams) Hefler and their daughter Hannah (Marcus Jamieson) and grandchildren Taylor, Rome, Leif, and Oak Jamieson; Godson Brett MacEachern; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special
friends.
Beside his parents, Joe was predeceased by his stepmother Laura and her daughter, Eva (aka Big Sister). Joe’s love was for his family, friends, wildlife, travel and the Toronto Maple Leafs. At Joe’s request there will be a private internment. A celebration of life is scheduled for Tuesday, May 29, at 2 PM at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 29 Trinity Lane, Beaver
Bank. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 29 Trinity Ln., Beaver
Bank, N.S. B4G 1C1, or the James Bartlett Fund, at Teamwork Co operative, in support of persons with disabilities , #501 7051 Bayers Rd, Halifax, NS, B3L 2C2. Those attending the Celebration of Life are asked to wear something blue and white or hockey jerseys in honour of Joe’s lifelong support for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
