Obituary of John McMeeken
McMEEKEN, J. Donald (B.Com Queens, MBA McGill) – Passed away peacefully at Warkworth Place, on Friday November 23, 2018. Donald, formerly of Peterborough, Deseronto, Edmonton, Bowen Island BC, Mill Village NS, Cowansville PQ and Sault Ste. Marie, in his 89th year.
Donald was the beloved husband of Noni (nee Smith) for 56 years. Loving brother of Marilyn Long (Bob) of Michigan and brother-in-law of Wendy Chambers of Peterborough. He will be remembered by several nieces & nephews and many relatives and friends across Canada.
Donald was a business administrator and worked in a wide variety of business and industries. He and Noni loved raising dogs. The Lab puppies and Alpacas kept them busy and happy.
A private family interment will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Community Alternative Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society. Donald was well liked by the staff of Warkworth Place. He was happy there. A warm thank you, on his behalf, for your love and care.
