It is with much sadness along with a heavy heart, comes the announcement of John Stafford Barton Dukelow (aka, The DUKE) passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his residence, after a long battle with cancer. John was a kind-hearted man who made everyone smile. He was a practical joker and always had something funny to say. There was never a dull moment when John was in your company. He often led the conversation and was always the life of the party. John never judged people. He had a long and successful career in the radio industry.
He leaves behind a large circle of family, friends and colleagues that he cherished. He was resilient and lived his life to the fullest. John will be deeply missed by his loving wife, best friend and life long partner Catherine Matheson. He is survived by his son Jeff and daughter-in-law Sabine, and two grandchildren Tylee and Max; daughter Tracey and son-in-law Wayne Millar, and two grandchildren Brody and Cole; brother Bill and sister-in-law Belle and his two nephews Mackenzie and Bennett; father and mother-in-law Bill and Eileen Matheson; sister in-laws Elizabeth and Alana, brother in-law Billy; his closest nephew John Sedlacek, and his niece Samantha. His parents Eileen and Charles predecease John.
John’s wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of life to be held in his honor for friends and family wishing to pay their respects. A date and location to be confirmed.
