Jeannine Dumenko passed away at the Agapé Hospice in Calgary, Alberta on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the age of 86 years.
Jeannine was born in Cornwall, Ontario, on February 25, 1932. She marked Duke Dumenko in 1951, and became an Army Wife until his discharge in 1968, when they settled in Calgary. Jeannine worked for many years as a Registered Nursing Assistant (LPN) in various cities. She enjoyed social gatherings; she deeply loved her four grandchildren and great-grandson.
Jeannine is lovingly remembered by her son, Gary (Kathy); her four beloved grandchildren, Michael (Alison), Stephanie (Barry), Melissa (Alan) and Robert (Erin); as well as her great-grandson, Austin. She is predeceased by her husband, Duke; and sons, Robert and John.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the Sage Hill Retirement Residence and to the compassionate staff at the Agapé Hospice.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., with interment to follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca) or the Agapé Hospice (The Salvation Army, Agapé Hospice – 1302 8th Avenue NW, Calgary, Alberta T2N 1B8).
