Passed away peacefully on January 31, 2018, two months away from her 88th birthday. Predeceased by her husband Zsigmond (1992). Cherished mother of Denise and husband Christopher Hay, of Calgary and Brenda Papp. Beloved Nana to Jennifer Hay and Gregory Hay. Dear sister to Sr. Joyce Beneteau of Precious Blood Monastery in Hamilton. Janette was a pillar of strength with a heart of gold who lovingly cared for her disabled daughter, Brenda. She had a tremendous sense of humour and a positive outlook on life. Her kindness was returned by her many neighbours with their support and friendship. She shared many morning coffees, birthday dinners and Christmas gatherings with her very dear life-long friends Lloyd, Elaine Wilson and Pat Legault. Janette loved her bingos, watching Blue Jays games, crossword puzzles and especially her surprise road trips with daughter Denise – “these memories will be cherished forever, mom.” Janette was a faithful member of St. Vincent de Paul, where she volunteered her time with various church activities. Sincere thanks to CCAC, VON, and Dr. Chung for allowing mom to continue living in her own home for so many years. A special thank you to the staff at Metropolitan Hospital – 5th floor for their devoted help.
