Obituary of James Monnot
MONNOT, James Edward, 81
Passed away peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Saturday, January 20 after a relentless 3 year battle with lung and brain cancer. He is survived by wife Dianne, nieces Sandra (Elliott) and Susan and their children Jan, Olivia, Emma and Jackson. Predeceased by parents Mel and Sara, brother Ray and sister Sally. Jim and Dianne spent happy decades in Markham and he was able to enjoy 27 years of retirement concentrating on his favorite things: boating on Georgian Bay, golden retriever dogs, road trips (we all know how much he LOVED to drive), and sharing laughs with so many long time friends. He loved socializing.
Heartfelt thank you to Drs. Trinkaus and Patterson for their loving care, the chemo and palliative care nurses and to Markham Stouffville Hospital. Jim could not have been in better hands. Visitation at DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main St. N. (Markham Rd.), Markham on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, January 29, at 1pm. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Golden Retriever Rescue (1-866-712-8444 or 416-657-2445) or to the Georgian Bay Land Trust (416-440-1519).
