Passed peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital on Sunday December 30, 2018 in his 103rd year. James, predeceased by his wife Evelyn, will be sadly missed by his daughter Heather (Dennis) Dignard, and by his grandchildren Laura Dignard and Martin Dignard (Sarah Duval). James is predeceased by his parents Capt. James McCannell and Laura McCannell (Nee: Taylor), and by his siblings Donalda (Albert) Calvert, Malcolm, Reynolds, Dorothy, Marjorie, Dorcas, and Laurie. A graveside service for James will be held in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery in Midland, Ontario. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation, or to the charity of your choice, and will be accepted by Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551.
