James ‘Dale’ David Sharpe
James ‘Dale’ David Sharpe, born Deeside, Quebec on June 2, 1940, passed away Friday afternoon at the University of Alberta Hospital. Survived by his two loving children, Katie Sharpe and Alexander Sharpe, and their mother, Marci Sharpe, of Edmonton, AB; his sister Sheila Clulow of St. Albert, AB, his brother Dawn Sharpe of Calgary, AB, and his beloved partner, Coby Verschuren of Edmonton, AB. He is predeceased by his parents Jean Sharpe (1997) and David Sharpe (1993).
After being in the Canadian Navy, and achieving his University Degree at UNB and subsequently his MBA, Dale had a great career as a Professional Engineer for many years, and was also a very skilled craftsman in carpentry. Before becoming a passionate Oilers hockey fan, he himself enjoyed playing hockey, golfing, skiing, being behind cameras capturing family moments, and world history throughout his life. He loved his family and friends, had an affinity for chocolate and held a strong appreciation for all kinds of planes, trains, and automobiles. In his retirement, he loved to spend his time walking Rufus and Samantha the dogs, and doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles at coffee shops with his partner, Coby.
A Memorial gathering will be held at Summit Village (10041 149 Street, Edmonton, AB) this Sunday, October 21st at 1pm until 3:30pm to celebrate Dale’s beautiful life.
