Obituary of Jack Vallings
Vallings, Jack Peacefully passed away surrounded with love by his family on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 at the Peterborough Regional Hospital at the age of 90. He was born in London, England on June 14, 1928 to the late Katherine and the late Geoffrey Vallings. He is predeceased by his wife Jill Vallings (nee MacCallum) and infant daughter Margaret Patricia. Brother to the late Gordon Vallings (Peggy) and the late Raymond Vallings (Mary). He will be missed by his four children Jed Vallings (Gillian), Judy Vallings, Jennifer Vansteenkiste and Barbara Jane Willoughby (Steve) along with his grandchildren Jeffrey Cuddeback, Ryan and Michael Vansteenkiste, and Hannah, Reid and Wesley Willoughby. He will also be remembered by stepmother Ann Vallings, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins in England. Many thanks to his life-long friends Judy and Glyn Nicholas as well as Rosa Velado, who helped to care for him for many years with loving kindness.
Jack will be remembered for his love of motorcycles, antique radios (of which he had more than 400,) as well as his amazingly detailed and organized workshop where he spent countless hours reclaiming and repurposing treasures he would find.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will occur in May. Memorial contributions to hospice care in your community would be appreciated. Condolences may be made at www.communityalternative.ca
