In Loving Memory
May 23, 1941 – May 28, 2018
With heavy hearts we announce the death of our devoted mother and doting nonna. Wife of the late Antonio (2012) and daughter of the late Luigi and Maria DiGiovanni. Left to mourn are her children Giuseppina, Rita, Lina (Paul), Mario (Branka), Silvana (Peter) and Michael (Linda). Nonna to Melissa, Christopher, Stephanie, Katrina, Deanna, Amira, Mikala and Mia.
Born in Roccamorice, Italia and immigrated to Canada in 1957. Iolanda worked for many years at Bondy Greenhouses and The Verdi Club, which allowed her to provide her family with so many opportunities. Our deepest gratitude to the many neighbours, friends and family who showed our mom compassion over the last several years and days of her life.
Our mom was a generous woman who devoted her life to her family. We will never forget the laughs we shared together, meals from her garden, the bingo outings, our annual barbeques and everything in between. She is now surrounded with eternal peace.
Visitation will take place at the James H. Sutton Funeral Home. 401 Sandwich Street South, Amherstburg (519-736-2134) on Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 4, 2018, leaving the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., driving in procession to St. John the Baptist Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery (Amherstburg Mausoleum).
