Horst G. Woit of Lake Eugenia, Ontario
December 24, 1934 – December 21, 2018
Passed away peacefully at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound on Friday December 21st, 2018, in his 84th year after a brief illness.
Beloved husband of Grace (née Johnston) for 60+ years and cherished father of Suzanne (Patrick), Peter (Sharmane), and Leslie (Marty). Also lovingly remembered by his cousins Margot Dippel of Florida, Meike Kräling of Germany as well as family and friends in Canada and Germany. Sadly missed by his Border Collie ‘Bodie’.
After apprenticing in the retail trades in Germany, Horst set off on an adventure in the early 1950’s that brought him and his family to Canada and all the opportunities that entailed. A successful 40 year career at the T. Eaton Co. allowed for an early, long and happy retirement at Lake Eugenia. Skiing, golfing, travelling and social groups filled his days, along with enjoying cottage life.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Markdale Hospital, especially Nurse Leslie whose patience and compassion were greatly appreciated. Also thanks to the personal home care workers who helped Grace and family keep Horst at home for most of this year.
A celebration of life will be held January 5th, 2019 at 11:00 am at the May Funeral Home in Markdale, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound, Ontario so that they may continue to give comfort to families in need.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Horst G Woit of Lake Eugenia Ontario December 24 1934 December 21 2018..
