Harold Karn 2018

Harold Karn, of Hanover, passed away at Rockwood Terrace in Durham on Wednesday morning, February 28, 2018. He was 93.
Born on February 20, 1925 in Sullivan Township to the late Heinrick (Harry) and Elisabeth (nee Weppler) Karn. Harold was self employed and founded Karn’s Roofing. A dedicated businessman and community minded man that loved to support Hanover. He was a loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 130 for 50 years.
Survived by loving wife Violet (nee Priebe) of Hanover. Loved father of Gerald (Suzanne) Karn of Owen Sound, Jim (Jillian) Karn of Vietnam, Doug (Karen) Karn, Donald (Jackie) Karn both of Hanover and Joan Edwards (Graham Taylor) of Kitchener. Special grandfather of Michael (Krista), Steven (Lori), Stacey (Jeff), Shelley (Randy), Jason (Lisa), Jordan (Kathryn), Shawn (Mary Jane), Angela (Matt), Brock (Laurie), Jana (David) and great grandfather of 22. Also survived by brother Lawrence Karn. Harold is survived by 3 sisters in law and several nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his brothers Gordon, Wilmer, Alvin, and Dean Karn, sisters Alvena Kuhl, Luella Kuhl, Viola Jackson, Doretta Phillips, Lorraine Hodder and Beatrice Hatten.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:00 am, at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church (356 9th Avenue, Hanover). Rev. John Polacok officiated. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or to the Diabetes Association are appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
