Suddenly, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Saturday, January 6th, 2018, in his 92nd year. Gordon, loving husband of Ruth (Johnson) for almost 70 years. Predeceased by his son, Douglas (1984).
Proud grandfather of Scott and his wife Liliana, and Jeffrey and his wife Rhian, and great grandfather of Fletcher, Maria, Erika, and Owen. He will be sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Solveig. Dear brother of Norma Dunlop, Betty George, George, and Rodney and his wife Karen. Predeceased by his sister Alma Virtue, and by his parents Elmer and Pearl (Maas).
Gordon was a well known auctioneer and farmed for most of his life in Underwood, Ontario raising pure bred Aberdeen Angus cattle.
Friends will be received at the T.A. Brown Funeral, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222, on Tuesday, January 9th, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held at the Port Elgin United Church, 840 Bruce Street, on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 at 11:00am with Rev. Janet MacDonald officiating.
Memorial donations to the Wesley United Church would be appreciated by the family.
There’s still time to send flowers to the Visitation at the T.A. Brown Port Elgin Chapel from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on January 9, 2018.
