Greene, Gordon Kay:
With his loving wife by his side, Gordon passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital, at the age of 90.
Beloved husband of Jackie. Loving father of Susan, Julie (Bill), Nancy (Roy), John (Catherine), Matthew, Sarah (David). Dearly remembered by Jackie’s children, Lynn (Greg), Angela, and Peter. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Daniel, James, Nicole, Laura, Dylan, Katie, Heather (Ryan), Bradley, Kelly, Kyle, Ryan and Andrew. Proud great -grandpa to Danica. Loved by his sisters Ardeth (the late Heber), Sharon (Ralph) and Shirley (Ron) and his many nieces and nephews.
Dr. Greene was Dean of the Faculty of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University from 1979 to 1989 and was Acting Dean from 2005 to 2006. He was Professor Emeritus at the time of retirement.
Gordon’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (1250 Strasburg Rd. Kitchener) on Saturday September 29, 2018 at 3 pm, reception to follow. Private cremation has taken place.
At the request of the family, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gordon’s name to the Wilfrid Laurier University -Faculty of Music Scholarship Fund, cards available at the funeral home.
