Gertrude (nee Liberty) Burnett
1929 – 2018
It is with profound sadness that we announce her passing on January 8, 2018 at Pioneer Manor at the age of 88 years. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Burton in 1974 and her daughter Aileen in 2017. Her lasting legacy will continue through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves her daughters Mary-Katherine (MK) Punkari husband Tom of Capreol, Joanne Cardinal husband Marc of Sudbury, foster daughter Rachelle Gervais husband Lloyd of Capreol and foster son Robert Wilson of Winnipeg. Her cherished grandchildren, Breeyn Burnett, Blake Punkari, Kyle Punkari, Paulette Gervais and Denise Gervais and their significant others will miss her very much. Great grandchildren Alliah and Divon made her smile with every interaction that they had with her.
Born on March 15, 1929, she was the youngest of 5 children. She was raised in Capreol Ontario and continued to live there her entire life. Being an active member of Our Lady of Peace Church she played the organ there for over 60 years. She was loved and respected throughout her community because of her caring nature. Her faith was a huge factor in her life and we know that she is with her God now. Her family and friends take comfort in that. Even though her memories were taken from her in life, we will carry her heart with us through eternity.
