It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Gerard O’Leary at the Carmelite Palliative Care Unit, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 88 years.
Gerard leave to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Helene; children, Steve (Bernadette), Margaret (Maxwell) Reid, David (Peggy), Gerard (Joan), Regina (Pierre) Mercier, John (Charlotte), Christopher (Kimberley), Jim (Magda), & Helene (Jason) Menchenton; 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Theresa McCullough, & Paul O’Leary; as well as a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Gerard is predeceased by his granddaughter, Rebecca Mercier; parents; siblings, Bill, Bertha Hennessey, Kitty White, Marie O’Leary, & infant sister.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no public visitation.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy donations in his memory may be made to the Rebecca Mercier Scholarship Fund.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
