It is with sadness that the family of the family of Georgette
Soffee announces her death at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in
Fredericton on Sunday, April 1st, 2018 at the age of 92. Born in
Lebanon on July 10th, 1926, she was the wife of the late Joseph
Georgette leaves behind her sons, Nakhoul
“Mike” Soffee (Mantoura) of Fredericton, Doumit
“Dominic” Soffee (Rene) of Mississauga, ON, Antoun
“Tony” Soffee (Nouhad) of Fredericton, and Soffee
Soffee (Vivianne) of Fredericton; daughters, Yvonne Hanna (Habib) of
Fredericton, Moura Tahhan (Joseph) of Lebanon, Renee Tahan (Jean) of
Fredericton and Vivianne Zouein (Sharbil) of Lebanon; sister, Bahey
Kisob; 28 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren. In addition to her
husband, Joseph, Georgette was predeceased by her parents, Doumit and
Maroun (Ghosn) Hanna; brothers, George and Antonous Hanna; sister,
Most of Georgette’s life was split between
traveling to Lebanon and Canada, where her children were. She always
made sure to include everyone without excluding anyone.
Georgette’s greatest joy was spending time with her family,
grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by
her family and friends.
A visitation was held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160
York St., on Monday, April 2nd, 2018 from 7-9 pm. Visitation will take
place again at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 3rd, from 2-4
& 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St.
Charbel’s Maronite Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 4th,
2018 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in
Georgette’s memory can be made to St. Charbel’s
Maronite Catholic Church.
