PARKITNY, George “Jurek”
It is with great sadness that the family of George Parkitny announces his sudden yet peaceful passing on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Janina for 63 years. Loving Tatuś to Ola “Alexandra” and John Kedzierski. Cherished Dziadziu to Stephanie Charlinski (Rob), Johnny “Jasiu” Kedzierski and Alexander “Alex” Kedzierski. He will be dearly missed by his neighbours, friends and all who knew him. Predeceased by his parents Alodia and Stanislaw, siblings Irena, Roman and Adam.
George was a past member of the Polish organization, S. P. K., the Canadian Polish Society and current member of the Polish Canadian Legion Br. 418. After 30 years of work at General Motors, George retired and found enjoyment in stamp collecting, gardening and playing bridge. He became an avid Tim Hortons connoisseur enjoying many hours of coffee and donuts with his wife and grandchildren. George was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church for over 56 years and served as an usher.
Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Rosary being held at 3 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 5 Oblate St., St. Catharines, on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
