Geneva E. Sweezey
1925 – 2018
Geneva Edith (Watling) Sweezey, wife of the late Robert Sweezey of Miramichi and formerly of Napan Bay passed away at the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the age of 93.
Born in Point-Aux-Carr on October 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Clara (MacDonald) Watling. She was a homemaker and attended Carmel United Church, Napan.
Geneva is survived by her three daughters: Carmel MacDonald (Edward) of Black River Bridge, Dale Hammond (Gary) of Miramichi and Bonnie Lee Villeneuve (Garry) of Napan; five grandchildren: Rodney MacDonald, Tracey Sullivan, Krista Villeneuve, Daniel Villeneuve and Raymond Hammond and one great grandchild: Emily MacDonald; four brothers: Robert Watling, Ozzie Watling, Ken Watling (Shirley) and Win Watling (Liz) all of Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Robert Sweezey, four sisters and seven brothers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11 am from Carmel United Church with Rev. David Allan officiating. Interment will be in Black River Community Cemetery later in the spring.
As expression of sympathy, donations to the Black River Community Cemetery, Carmel United Church or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
