Friedericke (Fritzi) Ala (nee Lechner)
1932-2018
Passed away peacefully after a short battle with lung cancer on Saturday, November 24, 2018, in her room at Valley Stream Manor, Nepean, at the age of 86. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lawrence Gordon Ala. She will be missed dearly by her three children: Laurinda, Byron (Judy Price), and Davin (Michelle Lister); her six grandchildren: Madison, Kristin, Travis, Mikaela, Adrienne, and Ciarra, and her great-grandson Damien. She grew up in Austria in a large loving family, met and married her husband in Vancouver, and raised her family in Vancouver, Regina, Ottawa and Aylmer. She derived great pleasure from gardening, painting and travel. A celebration of her life will be held in the,
Garden Chapel of Tubman ,
3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline)
on Friday, December 28, 2018, from 2-4 pm. Special thanks for the wonderful care given by the dedicated staff at Valley Stream Manor, Carefor and the Elizabeth Bruyere Centre, as well as her caring physician Dr. Franco Pietrobon.
