Frieda Kalist
KALIST, Frieda (Marchuk), passed away on Saturday October 6, 2018 at the age of 78.
She leaves to mourn her children Lori (James) Bakken, Mike (Krista) Kalist, grandchildren Anthony Kalist, Jocelyn Kalist, and Jordan Bakken; sister Anne Pustey; sister-in-law Mary Kalist and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Frieda was predeceased by her husband Peter (March 1, 2005); and other extended family members.
Frieda was born on the family farm in Rosthern January 31, 1940. She married Peter Kalist in 1959 and resided in Saskatoon. Mom loved to spend time and do things for her family. She always made sure freezers were full, had many laughs with her grandchildren, and spent time out in BC with her daughter. Mom also loved going for coffee with the girls, playing cards, and watching Roughriders games.
She will be sadly missed but remembered by all.
The Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church (1202 11th St. E.) in Saskatoon. Interment in Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery will follow.
Would like to thank Dr. Derek Pearson, all the nurses, and support staff at RUH 6100 unit for all their kind support over the past few months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (101 – 440 2nd Ave. N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2C3).
