Frederick Kenneth “Manny” Norton
– 56, of Lockhartville, passed away on Saturday, November
17, 2018 in the V.G Site of the Q.E. II Health Sciences Centre,
Halifax. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Frederick Norton
and Isabel (Royal) (Norton) Spinney. He has been employed with Canard
Poultry for 25 years and later worked as the Water Treatment Officer
for the Municipality of the County of Kings for over 10 years. He
enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, maintaining his
property, hunting, John Deere tractors and his 1980 Z28 Camero. He was
an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. He
is survived by his wife, Linda (Melvin); children, Kandy (Ryan)
Broughm, Oromocto, New Brunswick; Kenny Norton (Jessie Wong), Toronto
and Morgan Kempton, Liverpool; grandchildren, Bryson and Lauren;
sisters, Glenda Landry (Darrell Davis), Windsor; Kathy Therrien (Dr.
Jim Rafferty), Port Williams and Dolly (Marshall) Davidson, Gaspereau;
brothers, Dennis (Jackie) Royal, Petawawa, Ontario and Bruce Norton
(Cheryl Crowe), Kentville; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his
parents, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and
Ella Royal; paternal grandparents, Kathleen Keating and James Norton;
a nephew, Jason Allen and his father-in-law, Ralph Melvin. Cremation
has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville
where the funeral service and reception will be held at 2:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, November 21, 2018, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating.
Burial will take place at in the Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand
Pré, Kings County. The family wishes to express their
sincere appreciation to Dr. Elsawy of the Hematology Department and
the nurses and staff of the 8th Floor at the VG for the care, kindness
and compassion. Donations in memory may be made to the Lymphoma
Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
