Fr. Stephen
Csiszar, Reverend Stephen:
Passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at his home at the age of 79. Reverend Stephen Csiszar was born in Hungary on February 2, 1939, son of the late Stephen Csiszar and Maria Wolstrommer. He was ordained to the Priesthood at St. Michael Cathedral, Veszprem, Hungary on June 16, 1962. He ministered in the Caritas Refugee Camp in Vienna from 1962-1972. Father Csiszar came to Canada in 1973 and served at the following Parishes in Hamilton Diocese: Associate Pastor – Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Brantford (1973-1980), Pastor of St. John Parish, Dundalk (1980-1983), St. Patrick Parish, Cambridge (1983-1992), Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Hamilton (1992-1998) and then St. Anne’s Parish, Kitchener (1998-2000) before his retirement in 2000.
Fr. Stephen’s family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (vigil prayers at 6:00 p.m.) on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, 268 East Ave., Kitchener, on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery followed by a reception at the church.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
