KAAKE, Joseph “Joe”
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe, a loving father, grandfather, great- grandfather and great -great -grandfather on February 7, 2018 at the age of 86 surrounded by his loving family. Reunited with his beloved wife Beverlee (nee Smith) (1999). Loving and devoted father to Tim Kaake and wife Chris, Phyllis Moore, Gerry Kaake & Marty Kaake, and extended family members Tom and Wayne Verstick. Cherished “Bumpa” to Tricia, Shanon, Joe, Ryan, Rebecca, Jillian, Kate, Charlie & Tim, and extended grandchildren Andrew and Clayton. Great- grandfather to Christopher, Samantha, Adam, Jacob, Oscar, Skylar, Landyn and Alice and great- great -grandfather to Athena. Predeceased by parents Mervin and Nora Kaake. Dear brother to Noreen Ueberer. Predeceased by siblings Raymond, Geraldine, Shirley and Ron. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joe retired as a foreman with Chrysler Canada after 35 years of dedicated service. Joe was an avid traveler with his best friend Bill, covering every province and territory in Canada. He loved gardening, bowling and was a dedicated sports fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed having his beer on the pier on the South River in Nipissing, Ontario and loved the great outdoors while enjoying his coffee and watching the bears and wildlife. Joe enjoyed spending time with family by traveling with his children. A special thank you to Kristen Soulliere, his future granddaughter, for all the love and care she provided for Bumps. Also, many thanks to Marilyn Fox for special care and help with dad in his time of need, and to newly adopted son Terry Van Erp, for getting dad’s trailer set up for him to see one more time. A heartfelt thank you to Dr.Tom Deklaj and Dr. Patrick Smith, along with Amanda from St. Elizabeth’s Health Care for all their care and compassion provided to our father. At Joe’s request, his remains were gifted to the Body Bequeathal Program at the University of Western Ontario to educate medical students and advance medical research. Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234. As an expression of sympathy and In honour Joe’s life, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Windsor & Essex County.
