Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister Eva Marie Gervais. After a lengthy illness, Eva passed away at Actionmarguerite, Saint-Boniface on October 12, 2018 at the age of 87 years.
She will be deeply missed by her four brothers Adelard, O.M.I., Cyril (Lucienne), Paul (Carol), Maurice (Emily), and her sister Pauline (Cyril), several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eva was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Aurore Gervais, by her sisters Bernadette (Hector), Annette (Marcel), Lucille (Frank), and Yvonne. She was also predeceased by her longtime friend Leo.
Eva was born in St. Eustache, Manitoba on June 22, 1931 where she resided until she moved to St. Boniface. She worked at St. Boniface Hospital for many years.
Her constant interest in our daily lives made her a cherished listener. Eva delighted in knowing how her extended family was doing and took pride in their successes. She had a way of making everyone feel special. On many occasions, Eva liked to challenge anyone to a friendly but certainly competitive game of scrabble or cribbage.
Eva handled aging gracefully, accepting physical limitations without complaint. Her profound faith has reunited her with all those whom she loved and have predeceased her.
Thanks to the wonderful staff of 3ABC Actionmarguerite for their special care and dedication. All of the family extends their deep appreciation to Penny for going the extra mile in brightening Eva’s life through various activities. Also special thanks to Yvette, Ginette and Gilbert for their constant help and support throughout Eva’s illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Arthritis Society, Manitoba Division, or to a charity of your choice.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Paroisse du Précieux-Sang, 200 Kenny Street, Winnipeg, MB.
