Ethel Margaret Higginson Bradley was born July 23, 1931 to Harry and Lillian Higginson. Ethel was one of eight children raised on the farm south of Success. Ethel attended Orillia School and after completing school, trained as a Nurse’s Aid at Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon. Upon completion of her training she moved to Gull Lake to start her nursing career. There she met, courted and married Gene Bradley. To this marriage there were five children: Douglas, who died in infancy, Ron (Jackie), Jim (Rhonda), Jerry (Paulette) and Shelly (Fred). Ethel is survived by her four children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Gene, son Douglas, grandson Shawn, sisters Edith, Gladys, and Dorothy, brother Jim, and numerous brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. Mom loved gardening. She grew a huge garden every year, gardening until she was 81. She was a great cook, loved to sew, bake, knit and crochet. She enjoyed sports, especially curling. She always put her family and friends first. She lived a full life with a life fulfilled. She will be missed. Donations to the Autumn House Independent Living Facility in Gull Lake would be appreciated by her family. Warren’s Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
