Erin Glen Eagen (August 26, 1944-March 28, 2018)
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Erin Glen Eagen. Suddenly, with his family at his side, he has left a hole the size of the universe. Erin was funny, kind, generous, and good. Loving husband, devoted father, loyal brother, and dear friend, Erin was the very best of men, and he will be missed by everyone lucky enough to know him.
Erin was a talented and beloved teacher, who believed in the underdogs and saw the best in his students. He brought joy to thousands of kids in his classroom and shop, wanting nothing more than to make his students laugh every day.
While he was modest to a fault, Erin had countless talents and interests. Woodworking, blacksmithing, canoeing, golfing, reading, and gardening, Erin was always finding something new that fascinated and challenged him, and was eager to share his passions with others. Erin was active and healthy, remaining dedicated to his fitness regime of push-ups, chin-ups, and sit-ups to his last day.
Erin was a wonderful husband and companion to Sheila for 45 happy years. Their children Nathan (Anne) and Rachel (Michael) will remember his laugh every day. Irreplaceable Gramps to Kingsley and new baby Edith, Erin will be deeply missed by his brothers, Chris (Michelle) and Shane (Cara), his sister, Heather, and by many other family members and friends.
Erin was happiest when he was helping others. As an organ donor, Erin has given hope to countless recipients and their families. We are so proud of him.
We are so grateful to have known him, and blessed to know that he lives on.
A celebration of life will be held in September, in Prince Edward County.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Erin Glen Eagen August 26 1944 March 28 2018.source
