Obituary of Enid Young
Enid passed away at the age of 77 after battling ovarian cancer for 7 ½ years. She was predeceased by her parents Irving and Annie Peterson; brother Winston; and father and mother-in-law, Bill and Emma Young. Enid is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Wayne; daughter Cheryl; son Kevin (Cathy); grandchildren, Noah and Madison, all of Regina; brother, Lorence (Lee) of Saskatoon; in-laws, Gary (Sandra) of Mesa, AZ, Brian of Ventura CA, Daryl (Julie) of Solvang CA, Sharon (Reuben), of Carpinteria, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and the US. Enid was a registered nurse, graduating from Moose Jaw Union Hospital in 1962. She had an Admin. Certificate from the University of Regina. Enid worked in Santa Barbara, Wascana Rehabilitation Center for 23 years, Sask. Safety Council, Last Mountain Regional Park and for the last several years for Dr. Felix Veloso. She was an active volunteer. Past president of the Celiac Association of Regina, Ovarian Cancer, Glen Elm Community Association, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Secretary of Church Council, Hospitality Committee, Ushering and Communion, Quilting and various other organizations. Enid was an avid Pats, Roughrider and fastball fan. She especially looked forward to attending her Monday laughter yoga group. Enid was a positive, loving and caring person and everyone who knew her loved her. She loved having her grandma days with her grandchildren. Her motto was “if you can’t say something nice about the person, don’t say anything at all.” She will be missed! Funeral Service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 190 Massey Road, Regina, SK, on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Tank and Pastor Amber Hoffman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Enid’s name to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Ovarian Cancer, (Canada Research/Memorial Fund), 205-145 Front Street East, Toronto, Ontario, M5A 1E3 or the Bethany Cemetery fund.
