With sadness the family of Emery J. Richard announces his passing that occurred on Thursday December 27, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born April 15, 1926 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Antoine and Aurélie (Vautour) Richard. Emery was employed with CNR and the ILA for many years as a checker. He was a very social person who played an active role in his church parish and was also a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife Rita (Aucoin) Richard; sister Brigette (Steve) Peters; brothers-in-law Laurie (Aggie) Aucoin and Harry Adams; sisters-in-law Rosé Aucoin and Thérèse Aucoin (scic); several nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Vincent and Ivan; sister Viola Adams; brothers-in-law Léo, Aldéric, Gérard and François Aucoin
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Wednesday January 2, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. François-de-Sales Church, on Thursday January 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to St. François-de-Sales Church or the charity of one’s choice.
