Allan Ellis Aitken, formerly of Holstein, passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Sunday, June 24th, 2018 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Fern Aitken (nee Allen). Loving father of Larry Aitken and his wife Susan of Holstein, Julie and her husband Gary Wilson of Durham, Sylvia and her husband Jeff Chambers of Sudbury and Dawn and her husband Jim Macumber of Owen Sound. Cherished grandfather of Kyle Aitken and his wife Katie, Emily Aitken and her fiancé Raphy Guenter, Bob Wilson and his wife Nicole, Brad Wilson and his wife Jessica, Dyson Chambers and his fiancée Brittany Cook, Astin Chambers, Mason Macumber and Kallen Macumber. Great-grandfather of Charlotte, Reese, Blake and Jack. Dear brother of Eleanor Wride and Beverly Aitken. Dear brother-in-law of Carol Thornton, Jean Rooney and Louise Morrison. Ellis will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his sister Eileen Thornton and his brothers-in-law Alan Thornton and Carl Wride. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest on Thursday, June 28th from 5 – 8 p.m. A memorial service celebrating Ellis’s life will be held at the Holstein Presbyterian Church on Friday morning at 11 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will be held at Holstein Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Saugeen Mobility, Holstein Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
