Elizabeth Anne “Cookie” Richard
It’s with heavy hearts the family of Elizabeth Anne “Cookie” Richard announce her passing on December 21st at the Saint John Regional Hospital, while surrounded by family. Elizabeth was born on June 17, 1951 to the late Charles and Helen (Byers) Gifford in Saint John, NB.
Elizabeth was full of life, she always enjoyed to joke around with loved ones. Everyday she had a beautiful smile on her face and even on a bad day. She loved children, old country music and the outdoors; especially being outside and feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin.
Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her daughters; Judy Hamilton (Randy), Darlene Clarke (Danny) and Barb Hamilton (John), brothers; Danny (Trish), Michael (Sandra), sisters; Phyllis (Gilles), Ann (George), Fran (Dave), Shirley (Bill), grandchildren; Shannon, Lindsay, Stephen, Brandon, Aaron, great grandchildren; Miller, Ethan, and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband Joseph Alexander Richard and infant sister Barbara Ellen Gifford.
The family would like to extend their gratitude for the wonderful care provided to their Mother by the staff of Kiwanis Nursing Home and the Saint John Regional Hospital staff in 4B South and Palliative Care Unit.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27th from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. A Memorial Service is to follow in Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations in Elizabeth’s memory can be made to the SPCA, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Epilepsy Foundation Canada, Diabetes Association of Canada of the charity of the donor’s choice.
