Dorothy Florence Stewart, formerly of Plymouth Park Road, passed away
peacefully on November 20 in Calgary, Alberta. She was 88
years old.
Born in the Eden Lake on
July 7, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Evelyn
(MacDonald) James. She was a longtime member of Sharon St.
John United Church, Stellarton where she taught Sunday School and
Explorers, and served as church Treasurer for a number of
years.
She was deeply
involved in activities involving her children and volunteered for
numerous charities. Her many interests included reading,
gardening, baking, painting and quilt-making, and she greatly enjoyed
the company of her good friends and family.
She is survived by her son Paul, Montreal; her daughter
Brenda (Albert) Bagni, Calgary; her son Robert (Suzi),
Calgary; her grandchildren Shane and Arden Bagni, and Sean
and Katie Stewart; her brother-in-law Ralph Stewart, Ontario; and
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of fifty
years, Sheldon, and by her brother Edward James.
A memorial service for friends and family, to be held at the H.
W. Angus Funeral Home in New Glasgow, will be announced at a later
date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations
be made to the War Amps of Canada or The Molly Appeal, Dalhousie
Medical Research Foundation.
