Dorothy (Christensen) Murray
1963-2018
Dorothy Marie (Christensen) Murray. Dorothy
peacefully passed away at Victoria Hospital, London, on Wednesday,
September 12, 2018, at the age of 55, with family by her side. During
Dorothy’s long struggle with cancer, she always remained
positive and determined to fight. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered
by her husband Ross of 34 years; daughters, Melissa Kaups (Paul) and
Jessica Trela (Adam); and grandson Dallas Kaups. She was raised in
Abercrombie, Nova Scotia by her parents, Patsy and Ray Christensen,
along with her sister Darlene, and brother Danny Christensen. Dorothy
will be fondly remembered for the loving and educational environment
she provided for many daycare children over the years. Her happy place
was always in her sewing room; crafting, quilting and completing
projects brought her much joy. During her illness, she completed many
projects for the patients in cancer treatment. Funeral service will be
conducted at 2 pm, Friday, September 28, at Westview Funeral Chapel,
London, Ontario. The service will be streamed live to
the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, Nova Scotia with
visitation 12:30 pm – 2 pm, prior to the
service. The
family would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit at Victoria
Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, those
wishing to make a donation in memory of Dorothy are asked to consider
the Canadian Cancer Society or the local Food
Bank.
