O’SHAUGHNESSY, Doris Eileen – Peacefully at Sandfield Place Long Term Care, Cornwall on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Doris (née Loucks) beloved wife of the late Garnet O’Shaughnessy (July 11, 2018). Doris was born in Avonmore, Ontario on March 30, 1930 to parents George and Grace (née Warner) Loucks. Cherished mother of Wayne (Alice), Leslie (Karen), Doug (Linda), Don (Joce) and Darin (Christine), all of Cornwall. She was predeceased by her infant son Roger. Proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Doris is survived by her sisters: Sylvia (Mrs. Jack Brown) of St. Catherines and Pat (Mrs. Terry Buchanan) of Niagara Falls. Predeceased by her siblings: Arnold Loucks, Neysa Robillard, Wallace (Bud) Loucks and Bonnie Lee Loucks. In accordance with the wishes of the deceased, there will be no visitation. A private memorial service for Doris and Garnet will be held at Knox St. Paul’s United Church at a later date followed by interment in Paul’s Hill Cemetery, Avonmore, Ontario. If so desired, contributions in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Society would be gratefully appreciated by the family. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Sandfield Place Nursing Home and, Dr. Garrett Foley for the excellent care Doris received in her final years.
