Doris Negraeff
March 15, 1927 – May 25, 2018
Doris Negraeff, beloved wife of the late Henry Negraeff of Canora, SK, passed away at the Canora Hospital on May 25, 2018, at the age of 91 years.
Doris was born on a farm in the Canora District on March 15, 1927, to Mack and Polly (Saliken) Malloff. As a young woman, Doris attended Meadowdale School and continued her education by correspondence.
On December 8, 1951, she married Henry Negraeff. Together, they continued to farm the homestead in the Canora District, where they lived and worked until 1970, when they relocated to Canora.
For the past 30 years, Doris’s love of knitting, crocheting and cooking filled her days. Her true passion in life was her family, both near and far. On April 19, 2018, she entered the Canora Hospital and remained there until her passing. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Doris was predeceased by her parents, Mack and Polly; husband, Henry Negraeff; sister, Annie Malloff; son-in-law, Samuel Mostowchuk; and her uncle, Peter Malloff.
She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Patricia (Bill) Holowatiuk of Spruce Grove, AB, Dianne Mostowchuk of Creelman, SK and Peter (Lorie) Negraeff of Canora, SK; her nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren: Bill (Michelle) Holowatiuk and Billy, Paige, Ben and Aleah; Kate Holowatiuk; Milton Mostowchuk and Reese; Miles (Crystal) Mostowchuk and Jordan, Natalie, Page and Corey; Lavern (James) Proctor and Danielle and Grayden; Thomas Mostowchuk and Jazlyn and Amelia; Andrew (Krystal) Negraeff and Charlotte; Elliot Negraeff and Jeremy Negraeff; as well as her extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 28, 2018, from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, with Shawna Leson as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Canora Cemetery, Canora, SK. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to a the Canora Hospital Auxiliary or to a Charity of Donor’s Choice, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Doris Negraeff.
