1927-2018
Daly, Doreen Shirley (nee Hardcastle) … Born March 23, 1927,
passed away after a short illness on Saturday December 22, 2018.
Survived by her sons David (Anne), Mike (Lynn) and Frank (Barb), eight
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, sister Alice (Chuck)
Whittaker as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her
husband Jack (1996), parents Frank and Nora Hardcastle, sister
Margaret (Reg) Higham and brother Thomas. She will be fondly
remembered by many friends. During her life she was very active.
Life member of the Ladies Aux, Branch 121 Galt Legion, Cambridge
Memorial Hospital Aux for over 30 years, member of Trinity Anglican
Church, Caroline Ridley Group for 50 years, A&W and the social
club, Member of Riverside Probus Club, worked many years at the
Trinity Community Table, she also enjoyed her bridge club and played
in the Red Cross Bridge for many years, and a member of the Ladies
Conservative Party. The family would like to express a special thank
you to the nursing staff at Hilltop Manor and her friend Suzanne
Johnson for the care and compassion shown to Doreen. Funeral Services
will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 12 Blair Rd., Cambridge, on
Monday December 31, 2018 at 2p.m., with the family receiving guests
one hour prior. A private interment will take place at Trinity
Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart &
Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
