FRASER, Donald Ross January 3, 1927 – May 21, 2018.
Donald passed away peacefully on the evening of May 21, 2018 in Ottawa with family by his side at the Ottawa General Hospital. Donald was the son of the late Reverend James Fraser and Rebecca (née Hogg). He was predeceased by his son Ross Gordon, brothers Philip, Jim, John, Neil and sister Elizabeth. Missing him greatly are his wife, Auralie Fraser, his surviving children Donna Lee Fraser, L. Neil Fraser, Rebecca (Marcel) Georges, Douglas Fraser, Kathryn Sear (Dennis Metrunec), Scott Fraser, Cameron (Madeline) Fraser and Melanie Fraser-Dawson (Doug Dawson), his nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Survived by his brother, Murray Fraser of Regina, and Alma McKinlay of Thornbury. He also will be missed by nieces, nephews, relatives, and countless friends around the world.
Our deepest thanks go to the compassionate care of the staff at the Ottawa General Hospital. The family wishes to thank the professional care of PSWs, nurses and staff at the Perley Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre. Most of all, the family extends their gratitude for the loving care from all the nurses and staff at the Unitarian House where Mom and Dad lived for 16 years until 2017. Donald’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 2nd at 5:30 PM at the Unitarian Church, 30 Cleary Ave, Ottawa, Ontario. Reception will follow. Memorial may be made in his honour to the Unitarian House of Ottawa.
