Donald C. Schriver
1921-2018
The death of Donald Charles Schriver of Greenfield occurred on
Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Veteran’s Health Unit in
Fredericton. Born July 12, 1921 in Fielding, he was the son of the
late Douglas and Lila (Bell) Schriver. He was also predeceased by his
wife, Laura; 2 sisters, Doris Sprague (twin sister) and Mamaree
Bradstreet; 3 brothers, George, Wilford and Kenneth Schriver; 1 half
brother, Ronald Schriver; 1 half sister, Eva Hood.
Donald is survived by his 6 children, Donald Schriver Jr. (Jeanie),
Joanne Forret (Dennis), Douglas Schriver (Beverlee), Nancy Schriver,
Tony Schriver Jackie) and Kelly Pryor; 13 grandchildren; 18 great
grandchildren; 1 sister, Dora Elkins as well as several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207
Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 2-4
pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 37 will hold a tribute service
at 4 pm. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 pm from the L.R.
Giberson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Vaughn Palin will officiate. Interment
will be in the Greenfield Cemetery at a later date. Donations made to
the Upper River Valley Cancer Support Group would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Veteran’s
Health Unit, the support staff at Bayshore Heath, and Red Cross and
the DECH staff on 4NW for the wonderful care and kindness shown to our
father during his stay.
