In Loving Memory of
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Deborah Ann Atkinson (Glode) age 66 of Amherst announce her passing on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Nappan, NS, she was a daughter of the late James and Beulah (Chapman) Glode.
Debbie spent many years providing private care before taking a position at C Vision and then LED roadway lighting. Known for her drawing ability and her love of crafts including quilts and embroidery.
Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by 2 sons Vaughn (Dorothy) of Truemanville and Shawn of Truro; granddaughter Nikki Ripley; brothers Don of Calgary, AB, Tom (Brenda) and David (Michelle) both of Nappan; sisters Judy Glode of Amherst and Sharon (Mark) Charette of Mississauga, ON; nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by spouse Darrel MacKenzie; sister Carolyn McKay.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm immediately followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating, all held in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst 902-667-9906.
Interment will follow in the Amherst Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Debbie’s memory to the family to assist with expenses.
