Obituary of David Price
Age 83, of Hants Border, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. He was born on December 23, 1934 in Lockhartville to the late William and Alma (Labrie) Price.
He was in the Navy for five years. He went on to work for the local gypsum company. The highlight of that job being that he was an AB on the maiden voyage of the Empress and the Duchess (gypsum boats). After that he went on to sail on the North Star II and the Cape Breton Miner. David went on to retirement working for CIBC as an armed bank guard at the main branch in Toronto, a position that he was very proud of. After he retired he moved back home to Nova Scotia. David was a collector of many different items. He particularly enjoyed bayonets, militaria, and books on history. While in Toronto, he acquired a most unusual pet – a Kinkajou. “Beaski” lived happily with David for 32 years – a good match as they were both nocturnal.
David is survived by his brother, James, Maple Ridge, BC; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, David was predeceased by brothers, Norman, Joseph and John “Jack”; sisters, Valerie and Elva.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation by request.
