Danny (Dan) M. Whyte
1949-2018
Dan slipped
loose of his mortal coil on Monday, April 2, 2018 following a short
hospitalization at The Moncton
Hospital.
Dan was born
in Lewisville, the only son of the late Millen G. White and Domithilde
(Dorothy) (Cormier) White. Dan was also predeceased by his
wife’s parents, Joseph (Joe) Doiron and Lillian (Wilson)
Doiron.
Dan
is survived by his wife, Eileen (Doiron) Whyte and only son, Daniel G.
Whyte of Ottawa, Ontario. Dan is also survived by his step-daughter,
Shera D. Rawlines (Brad Trevors) and Shera’s
family.
Dan was a
graduate of Moncton High School and celebrated his
50th year high school reunion with fellow
students in July, 2017. Dan attended Dalhousie University and was
elected to the Dalhousie University Senate while a student there. Dan
had a B.Sc. in Psychology and Organic Chemistry and a B.Comm. from
Dal.
Dan had been
employed by Transport Canada – Atlantic Region retiring in
February, 2010, after more than 35 years. Dan had been Regional
Director – Airports.
Dan was Past
Master of Tweedie Lodge # 41, F. & A.M. and was a member of
the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Dan was also an
affiliated Past Master of Acacia Lodge # 49 F. & A.M. Dan had
been a member of The Masonic Club, as well as the Sackville Rod
& Gun Club.
Dan was
looking forward to riding his motorcycle this summer, travelling and
spending more time at the cabin, Fundy Park and Alma. Dan enjoyed the
monthly Transport Canada retiree’s luncheons and the
camaraderie and conversation.
Cremation
arrangements under the professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home,
1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
Interment will
be in the Elmwood Cemetery Columbarium at a later date. There
will be no funeral service at
Dan’s request. There will be a visitation and reception in
the Members’ Lounge at St. James Gate, Fox Creek Golf Club,
Dieppe on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm to share stories
and remember Dan.
