Obituary Overview
Cynthia Baker
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Cynthia. Cynthia was born and raised in Neilburg, Saskatchewan, with her two brothers Don (predeceased) (Lois) and Pat (Lucille). Her parents, Lindsey and Rose, raised Cynthia to become a strong independent women who loved family, friends, sports, books and travel.
Cynthia lived a full life with ups and downs, and always looked forward to new challenges to overcome and successes to celebrate. She instilled her love of sport and fairness in all her children. Cynthia looked for the best in everyone.
Cynthia felt very fortunate to have raised four children – Christine (Tom) Spenceley, Laura (Gary) Burns, Patricia (Ian) Sorensen , and her son Stuart with her husband Morris (predeceased) in Edmonton, Alberta.
Her career in Law started mid-life and was extremely admirable, and Cynthia’s success on the tennis court made us all proud.
She loved her four grandchildren, John and Stuart Spenceley, and Hanne and Christopher Sorensen. She was always interested and supported their lives growing up. For the past two years she enjoyed a new member of the family, Lil Evita, her Chihuahua dog.
A celebration of Cynthia’s life will be held at the Saville Sports Centre, 11610 65 ave, Edmonton, on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 1 pm to 5pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders.
The Baker Family would like to thank all the caregivers at the Misericordia hospital and the Edmonton General Hospital for their support and kindness to Cynthia
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Cynthia Baker 2018.source
