Catherine “Kaye” Mathilda Venedam
1927-2018
Venedam, Catherine “Kaye”,
age 90. of Pomquet,
Antigonish Co passed
away on November 16, 2018 at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home,
Antigonish.
Born in Glencoe, Guysborough Co., she was
a daughter of the late William and Annie (Farrell)
Feltmate.
Kaye worked in the United States in her
early years. After raising her family with her husband Clarence in
Pomquet, she returned to work in the food industry at The Dingle, The
Goshen Restaurant
and Mother Webbs. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking and a good
game of cards but she
especially
enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren
who were her pride and joy. Kaye had a very deep faith and was a
dedicated member of Ste. Croix
Parish.
Surviving are
her daughter: Marsha (Adrian) Murphy, St.
John’s,
Nfld; Patricia
(Robert) MacLellan, Clydesdale; Audrey Mountain (Harold Slaunwhite),
Pomquet; Austin (Lois) Venedam, Pomquet; Gloria (Joe) Deon, Pomquet;
foster children, Billy (Carol) Murphy and Allan Murphy, Windsor; nine
grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; foster grandchildren;
step grandchildren;
brother Bill (Marie) Feltmate, St. Andrews;
sisters: Hilda Gottschall, Halifax; Loretta Welsh, Antigonish; Shirley
(Billy) MacGillivray, McArras
Brook.
Predeceased by her husband Clarence,
brothers: Maurice and Johnny; sisters: Annie,
June and Pearl; foster son, George and son in law, Wayne
Mountain.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral
Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Sunday from 2 to 8 pm. Funeral
Mass will be held in Ste, Croix Church, Pomquet on Monday at 11:00 am
with Reverend Andrew Gillies presiding.
