It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce Mayo Reid announces his passing after a brief illness, on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the age of 96.
Bruce was born on July 15, 1922 in Montreal to Harriett and Harold Reid. He attended LCC and spent his youth enjoying summers at the North Lake Fish and Game Club and Old Orchard Beach in Maine. At the age of nineteen Bruce enlisted with the RCAF (No.52 M.F.H.) He landed on Juno beach during the D-day invasions and helped with the liberation of Belguim and the Netherlands.
He was married to Evelyn (Peggy) Randell (1927-1993) in June, 1949. Bruce had a long and successful career as a top salesman with Meco, Rapid Gripp and Batten, and then StanMont, was an avid skier and outdoorsman, and enjoyed time at his country home in Vermont. Bruce was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a cherished friend. Most anyone who knew him liked him.
Bruce is survived by his two daughters Deborah (Jim) and Daphne, and son Randell (Mary), grandsons David Robinson (Julie), Timothy Robinson and Crawford Smith, and great granddaughters Eleanor and Colette Robinson, and niece Cathy Pote (William), and nephews Mark Randell, and David Ramsay (Cathy).
Burial will take place at
The Mount Royal Cemetery

at 11 am on Monday, September 24, with a celebration of life to follow at 12:30 in the Atwater Club, 3505 Atwater Avenue, Westmount.
