Bradley William Maurer December 4 1967 – November 30 2018

Obituary for Bradley William Maurer
Bradley was born in Neudorf, SK, on December 4, 1967. His sisters were so excited to have a brother, as were his parents to have a son. Bradley attended elementary and high school in Neudorf. In grade 12 he was awarded the Provincial Proficiency award; this award is given to students who demonstrate academic excellence. After high school, Bradley followed his dream of becoming a chiropractor. Unfortunately, due to illness, he was not able to complete his studies. He came back home and started working full-time at Saskatchewan Crop Insurance. He had worked there almost every summer while in university, and they could see Bradley’s potential, so they more than gladly offered him a job. He started as a Clerk I, moved up to Research and a Statistical Clerk before becoming a Human Resources Training Consultant. Bradley loved travelling around Saskatchewan facilitating the class content that he was asked to do. He enjoyed helping and meeting new people.
Like the son of a prairie farming family, Bradley enjoyed participating in 4H. His calf ,“Rocky”, was his pride and joy. He enjoyed helping his dad out on the family farm.
Bradley played competitive fastball and broomball in his youth. In 1993 he coached the 14-and-under Neudorf fastball team and could not have been prouder when they won the league championship. He also enjoyed playing any sport with a racquet, golfing and playing snooker. Bradley was a firm believer that physical activity was the key to a healthy lifestyle.
Bradley was an avid Saskatchewan Roughriders fan who enjoyed watching all of the CFL games – one weekend Brad and Norm attended every CFL game that weekend in four cities! In fact, a Riders game is where Linda and Brad had their wedding reception – hotdogs at halftime on the field at Mosaic Stadium during the July 1, 2010, Saskatchewan versus Montreal double overtime game. This was one of the happiest days of Bradley’s life. Linda, too, had found her perfect partner.
Many people had thoughts why Brad was called the “Catman”. And yes, he did enjoy his cats. However, the truth behind this nickname was because of his love for Chinese food. Brad found this name quite humorous and very happily adopted the name. He wrote and published a book called Cattitude. This book is a collection of Bradley’s self-lectures that he wanted to share with others for any purpose that people wanted. It is a journaling book that is intended to provide support and enable everyone to have a healthy attitude or, as he called it, CATTITUDE!
From the recent posts from his family, friends and acquaintances on social media, Bradley William Maurer was much more than all of these words – he was a kind-hearted, loving, funny, dedicated, passionate, adventurous and supportive man. His spirit and teaching will live on through all of us.
“Destinations are tiny compared to the journey. Enjoy the journey, the ride, the great feelings, the discoveries, the people you meet, the RIDE is WHAT LIFE IS ABOUT!!!” Bradley W. Maurer
Bradley passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2018.
Bradley is survived by his loving wife, Linda Maurer; his parents, William and Vera Maurer; his sister Glenda and Dale Carlson and their family, Maia, Rhees, Leif and Neysa; sister Karen and Murray Krieger and their family, Nathan (Keeley), Heidi (Jeramie), children Colten, Taylor and Kaden, and Aaron; sister Leanne Higgs and her son, Kennon; Linda’s family, his stepchildren, Matthew Brown (Nicole), Addie, Janie, Porter; Scott Brown (Danielle), Ashton; Amy (Alex) Dormuth; sister- and brother-in-law Karen and John, Stephanie, AJ (Kayla).
