Betty Lou Coburn
1933-2018
Betty L. Coburn of Harvey Station, NB passed away February 4, 2018 at
Wauklehegan Manor, McAdam, NB. Betty was born on December 23, 1933 at
Fredericton Junction, NB, a daughter of the late Hollis and Nellie
(Noble) Nason.
Betty was raised by the tracks in Harvey Station, NB. She left school
at an early age to help her mom care for her younger siblings. Betty
married Arnold Coburn in 1956 and raised two children. She was a
beautiful homemaker and an amazing mother, grandmother and great
grammie. Her greatest joy was seeing her family.
Arthritis and the onset of dementia impacted Betty’s activities
over the last year of her life as she had loved playing 45’s,
knitting, baking sweets and always enjoying watching Family Feud and
Curling on TV. Betty’s truest joy was watching the little
children in her life, Kingston and Brayden, play with the ever
expanding toy box she had especially for them.
Betty is survived by and was the loving mother of Cindy Wilson
(Donald) and Danny Coburn (Carmel); three grandchildren, Shane
Donnelly, Seth Drost and Joshua Wilson; one great grandson, Kingston
Drost; one brother, Kenny Nason (Sandra), Harvey Station, NB; one
sister, Ena MacLean, Plaster Rock, NB; two sisters-in-law, Berneice
Coburn-Messer (Hayes) and Althea Jones; as well as several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arnold
Dewitt Coburn; two infant daughters; one sister; two brothers; six
brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
In keeping with Betty’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A
graveside service will be held in the spring at Harvey Settlement
Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Betty, the family
has suggested the Harvey Settlement Cemetery or the Alzheimer
Society.
Arrangements by Flewelling Funeral Home, Nackawic, NB.
